✦ Why?
Context
In 2021, the number of pets in Spanish households rose significantly, with a 40% increase in dogs and 55% in cats. There are now more pets than children under 15 in Spain. Globally, pet ownership is growing, and people are treating pets as full family members, seeking the best care for them.
Our project aims to develop a digital product that connects veterinary clinics with users, helping them care for their pets in a simple and enjoyable way.

✶ The enviroment

In Spain, telediagnosis for veterinarians is prohibited by law, and the interviewed veterinarians only recommend it in rare cases. Additionally, most small and medium-sized veterinary clinics have minimal digital presence, typically limited to a basic website with service information and an appointment contact form.
✶ Our users
Regarding the audience, we found that pet owners come from various backgrounds, but the majority are women, couples, and families with medium to low income living in urban areas. They usually have a cat or dog, consume animal care content via mobile devices, primarily through social media, and typically visit a single clinic based on proximity.

The insights
And to achieve our goals, we decided to make our digital product a mobile app. For users, this will mean having direct contact with the clinic and access to all the information they need to take care of their pets.
The main features the app offers are:

The solution
But throught the process and the research we found out this could be a very expensive project for a small/medium sized clinic. That's why the final proposal was a SaaS. In other words, developing a software that can be used by different clinics, each with its own image and brand.
